How can ADHD present?
ADHD can involve persistent difficulties with attention, activity level and impulse control. Not every child appears hyperactive. For some, the main difficulties involve organisation, forgetting things and finishing tasks. A single behaviour does not establish ADHD.
Context and impact matter
Assessment considers age, onset, duration, multiple settings and impact on everyday life. Examples from school and home can help. Sleep difficulties, anxiety and learning problems can look similar; a qualified professional considers these possibilities.
What can families try?
Start with one step. Instead of “tidy your room”, try “put the books on the shelf”. Notice effort in specific words. Short activities, planned breaks and a consistent place for belongings may help with everyday routines. Try one strategy and observe whether it suits the child.
Build an individual plan
Support may include parent training, classroom adjustments and other treatments according to clinical need. Medication decisions and monitoring belong with a clinician. Online games and the forms on this site do not replace professional assessment.
